Virginia Bad Drug Lawsuits & Virginia Defective Medical Device Cases
While medical procedures and prescription drugs are often the only solution for improving a patient’s health, many of these products have been proven to be defective and known to cause specific injuries or premature death. Unfortunately, many pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers fail to warn consumers or fail to recall their defective products before tens of thousands of individuals suffer injury or death.
In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the number of Virginia defective medical device cases, wrongful death suits, medical malpractice claims, and Virginia bad drug lawsuits. These legal cases are filed by victims and surviving family members looking for financial recompense for their damages, losses and injuries.
The links below can help victims begin the process of filing a compensation claim against the defendants in their case. These resources are used by personal injury attorneys who specialize in medical malpractice cases.
State of Virginia Statute of Limitations
Virginia Civil Statute of Limitations Laws — Code Provisions (§ 8.01-243(A))
Like every state in the union, Virginia has specific restrictions on the amount of time surviving family members and victims of personal injury can file a claim against every defendant responsible for their harm. Failing to follow the Virginia statute of limitations can strip away the right of the victim to pursue compensation at any time in the future. Because of that, it is crucial to speak with personal injury law firms who specializes in medical malpractice cases to ensure that all necessary paperwork has been filed with the appropriate Virginia courthouse in a timely manner.
